Close, but flu shots NEVER cause flu infection because the vaccine is made of inactivated virus, not live virus. Incidentally, even injecting live flu virus would not cause an infection. The virus only replicates in the pseudostratified columnar epithelium of the respiratory tract. The same epithelium lines the fallopian tubes and they can also be infected, but only under experimental conditions involving direct application of the virus to that surface.
